- Actually, from what I know, those types of glasses were designed to be
- used with bitmapped displays, unlike the red/green ones which are for
- vector graphics. I did forget about the weapon bitmaps, which would have
- to be drawn twice. The monsters could sort of be 3d, if (as in doom) there
- are various frames for directions they are facing. If the display is
- blocky though (on a monitor - not TV) - it would look strange. :)
-
- You would only have to halve the screen redraw rate if the redraws were
- too slow (<12fps?). Alternatively, you could slow down the flickering of the
- glasses, as they are controlled by the computer, but this would make the
- display look flickery.
-
- I don't actually own a pair of those glasses (I remembered after reading
- some old ST User magazines), but I have seen similar ones around. Similar
- ones are being used for the Imax-solido (sp?) cinemas, that can't use
- polaroid glasses as the screen is curved.
-
- Oh well, it was just a thought. :)
-
- On a completely different subject:
- Someone was saying that (using Midimaze), the more computers you linked,
- the slower it got. I've played it with up to 7 computers, and could not
- see any slow down in speed. IIRC, Midimaze networking was done on the VBL
- interrupt - as I remember problems with trying to mix colour (50Hz) &
- mono (70Hz) displays.
